Created by KOTA.
Kotaku was created by artist and designer Dakota "KOTA" Schuetz.
After spending more than fifteen years traveling the world as a professional athlete, Dakota became fascinated by the different ways people experience life, creativity, and happiness. Every country, every culture, and every encounter offered a new perspective, shaping the way he approached art, design, and storytelling.
Inspired by those experiences, he set out to create something more than another collectible. He created a small companion with a story.

Why three eyes?
Kotaku doesn't have three eyes because it's a monster. It has three eyes because it sees differently.
- The first eye sees the world exactly as it is.
- The second eye imagines what it could become.
- The third eye notices what everyone else overlooks.
For Dakota, the third eye represents curiosity — the ability to look beyond the obvious, question assumptions, and discover beauty in unexpected places. Every Kotaku carries that same perspective.
More than one personality.
Just like people, every Kotaku experiences the world in its own unique way. Different colors. Different outfits. Different personalities. Yet beneath every collection is the same curious little creature with the same three eyes and the same desire to explore the world through a different perspective.
Each new collection represents another chapter, rather than another character.
Collection 01 — The Originals
Six distinct personalities, each with their own style while sharing the same heart, the same three eyes, and the same curiosity. This is where the journey begins.
Next Chapters
New fur. New outfits. New adventures. Same three eyes, same curiosity — expanding chapter by chapter.
Looking Ahead
Kotaku was never designed to be a single collection. It's an expanding universe of stories, personalities, and perspectives.
"As the world of Kotaku grows,
so do the stories waiting to be discovered."
